The Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS) was a special forces unit owned by the Umbrella Corporation, specializing in rescue operations during biohazard outbreaks. It was founded by former Soviet Colonel Sergei Vladimir. Although the UBCS has been very successful in every operation but one, the unit suffers a high mortality rate due to the hazardous nature of their missions. Thus, the UBCS is comprised almost exclusively of convicted war criminals and mercenaries from around the world who joined the UBCS as an alternative to capital punishment for any crimes they may have been caught committing. The unit consisted of about 120 operatives, divided between four platoons (with two or three squads per platoon).
Involvement in the Raccoon City incidentUBCS unit as seen in Outbreak series.
The UBCS was deployed to Raccoon City during the t-Virus outbreak on September 26, 1998 under the guise of reinforcing the Raccoon Police Department (RPD) Although seemingly there to help halt the spread of the t-virus infection and evacuate any survivors from the worst affected areas (Umbrella employees were to take priority, and members were encouraged to use regular civilians as decoys or human shields if their situation became dire), the Umbrella Corporation's true motives involved using the unit as guinea pigs for their Bio Organic Weapons (B.O.W.), as well as any other irregular creatures that resulted from infection during the outbreak. Because of this, almost all of the unit's members were killed before they could execute their mission. Carlos Oliveira was the only confirmed survivor during the outbreak.
Monitors
Monitors were special operatives within the UBCS whose purpose was to gather combat data from B.O.W.'s and the various other infected creatures wandering Raccoon City whilst maintaining a clandestine profile within the UBCS ranks. They were also tasked with gathering samples and destroying all evidence of Umbrella's involvement in the research and production of the t-Virus. To better coordinate their efforts, Monitors were acquainted with each other prior to the beginning of the operation.
Due to the traitorous nature of this occupation, Umbrella selected only the most heinous of war criminals to serve as Monitors, specifically those displaying anti-social and sociopathic tendencies, as well those displaying absolutely no regard for their fellow members. Nicholai Ginovaef and Tyrell Patrick were merely two of several Monitors within Raccoon City conducting "Operation: Bravo-16" (the code used throughout the mission by Monitors regarding their true objectives). Monitors were naturally given preferential treatment over regular mercenaries, as they were provided with means of communications to contact their superiors, were implanted with higher-quality vaccines and were provided with instructions on how to reach certain extraction points.
Every Monitor participating in "Operation: Bravo-16" was killed during the course of the mission. This was, for the most part, due to the cunning handiwork of the particularly ruthless operative, Nicholai Zinoviev. Intent on hoarding all research and combat data for himself, Nicholai systematically murdered his comrades before stealing the information they had gathered.
Even with the complete annihilation of the Monitor unit, "Bravo-16" was deemed a resounding success, due to the massive amount of combat data Umbrella had garnered from the incident.
Organization
It is not know exactly how many members and support staff comprise the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service as a whole, though what is know is that the four platoons (Alpha; Bravo; Charlie and Delta) sent into Raccoon City numbered 120 men altogether.
It has also been confirmed that the U.B.C.S has a compliment of light armor personnel carriers and transport aircraft such as the Atlas Oryx helicopter (as seen in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis). Depicted in a special ending of Resident Evil Outbreak, two characters are seen attacking a horde of zombies in a U.B.C.S armored personnel carrier. In Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles Umbrella's forces are seen being transported by a variety of aircraft including UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters. The APC's featured in Outbreak resemble M8 Greyhounds. This is strange because M8's are quite old APC's dating back to the WWII, though it remains in service in some 3rd world countries.
Gear
Clothing
Due to their involvement in tactical, hazardous, and combat operations, UBCS operatives wear and use military grade tactical gear. Operatives are seen wearing black combat boots, beige-colored fatigue pants, a green fatigue shirt, and some form of load bearing vest with the UBCS emblem imprinted on the back. Some carry their pistols in drop-leg holsters, where others use a cross-draw holster built into their vest.
Only squad leaders and commanders are seen to use the UBCS green beret.
Operation Raccoon City
The UBCS's appearance is somewhat more modern and tactical than in previous games. Most notably, the majority of (living) UBCS members have their faces covered. Some wear knitted hats and cover their faces with bandanas. Others wear balaclavas with tactical goggles, and some wear bonnie hats as well.
Weapons
The group utilized a variety of small arms, including pistols, automatic weapons, precision rifles and various explosives.
The standard rifle of the unit is the M4A1, with no accessories. The official sidearm was the SIG Pro SP2009, though some mercenaries possessed STI Eagle 6.0s.[1]
Mk3A2 High Explosive grenades were issued, and were notably used by Mikhail and Tyrell Patrick. For heavy conflict, each platoon was also equipped with several disposable AT-4 anti-tank rocket launchers.
UBCS members armed with the Heckler & Koch MP5 sub-machine gun were encountered fighting Thanatos to little effect. Nicholai Ginovaef used a special launcher attached to a Heckler & Koch PSG-1 to take a blood sample of the same Tyrant, but the rifle itself was never actually fired. The UBCS unit tasked with hunting down the bio-weapon Nyx were also armed with MP5 machine guns. Another operative, Arnold was seen using a PSG-1 as well.
The weapons used by Klaus' team were similar to the standard weapons used by Delta Platoon, though the M4 carbines used by Klaus' unit had M203 Grenade Launchers mounted beneath the barrel, along with a single Benelli M3 shotgun. Throughout their mission, the unit rode in a flatbed HUMVEE with an attached Browning M2 .50 heavy machine gun. While most of Klaus' team carried the same SIG SP2009s as the UBCS members in Resident Evil 3, Klaus carried an additional SIG P225.
The unit in Resident Evil: Apocalypse was portrayed as more of a special forces unit then the mercenaries in the games, and they carried a greater variety of weapons then their more spartan counterparts. Their primary weapons are the IMI Tavor CTAR-21 and IMI Micro Galil assault rifles. They carried a variety of sidearms, including the Desert Eagle and Beretta 92FS. They did not seem to carry any explosive weapons besides M67 fragmentation grenades.

The Umbrella Security Service (abbreviated "U.S.S.") was an Umbrella elite special forces taskforce. As opposed to the UBCS, who were mainly used for "Cleanup" work, the U.S.S. were specially trained "black ops" unit dispatched by Umbrella.
The Rockfort Island Military Training Center, trained recruits to Umbrella's paramilitary taskforces until the island's capitulation in December 1998. One of the most well known members of the U.S.S. forces "HUNK" was trained there in 1996.[1]
History
The first known assignment of the U.S.S., was the order placed for the assassination of Dr.James Marcus. increasingly paranoid over Marcus's research, Oswell E. Spencer ordered his colleague's execution.[2] While not sporting their later comrades' trademark gas masks, the unit did share similar tactics employed in September 1998, namely the operation in two-man cells. Their armament of MP5 submachine-guns was also echoed by later units.
The next, confirmed, implementation of the U.S.S. was on July 23, 1998. Albert Wesker, an Umbrella researcher; former security officer and current (at the time) police infiltrator, was tasked with the re-opening of the Umbrella Research Center,[3] which had been abandoned since Marcus' death. With both the first and second investigation units compromised by an unexpected t-Virus outbreak, along with the Ecliptic Express, a private intercity train ready to take Umbrella personnel for management training, the U.S.S.' "Delta Team" was called in to investigate. Following Wesker's orders, the two-man team took control of the engine and starting it up again. At its speed when radioing to Wesker, the train was ten minutes away from the training facility's station. However, the team was attacked by a horde of infected leeches and the two men taken down. They would be reanimated as zombies minutes later.
Later that year in September, Umbrella became concerned over Dr. William Birkin's development of the G-virus, a mutagenic toxin set to replace the t-Virus. Intent on selling the virus over to the US Government for a military application, the U.S.S. was quickly called in to Raccoon City to abort any proceedings. On September 20, police officer Carl Nielson filed a report after encountering an individual skulking through the sewers. Although unable to catch up to the man to question him, Officer Nielson did stumble onto military-grade weaponry such as C4 plastic explosives with a detonator, and a broken infra-red scope for customizing firearms.[4]
Not long after, the two-man "Alpha Team", lead by "HUNK", trapped Birkin in his lab. With orders to retrieve a sample of the virus, the U.S.S. unit gunned down Dr. William Birkin and left with samples of the G-Virus (HUNK is actually seen here calling in the success of the mission). Leaving in a hurry to avoid detection, the two failed to notice Birkin carrying another sample of "G". Injecting it into himself, he mutated into a frightening monster ready for revenge. Several U.S.S. teams in the sewers composing of at least eight men were swiftly executed by the renegade doctor, with HUNK barely escaping alive.
Fully regaining consciousness on September 30, HUNK made his way out of the sewers and to the Raccoon City Police Department's helipad, and successfully escaped the city.
During the outbreak, the 2nd U.S.S. Squad was tasked with removing the experimental weapon Nyx from the city. The commander, Rodriguez, went rouge and attempted to steal the bio-weapon after the rest of the squad vanished. A UBCS team under the command of Arnold and under the supervision of Tommy Neilson was dispatched to capture him. Despite the nearby area being mined, Rodriguez escaped by helicopter, but lost Nyx in the process.
The last known usage of the U.S.S. was in November 1998 when a small U.S.S. team lead by HUNK was assigned to transport a container to Rockfort Island. The mission was controversial in that Alfred Ashford, the island base's commander, did not reveal to the team exactly what was inside the crate - HUNK was concerned over the danger of an unidentified package, that could put him and the rest of his unit in danger.

Commander - leader of the Arklay Mountains investigation, killed by Leeches.
Alpha Team
HUNK - U.S.S. commander nicknamed "Death, Mr.Death and Grim Reaper" due to a series of missions in which he is the only survivor.

Goblin 6 - An agent injured in Raccoon City. Appears in audio-dialogue in the mission "The Fourth Survivor," as well as in Operation Raccoon City.
Night Hawk (LONE WOLF) - U.S.S. Pilot; appears in The Umbrella Chronicles as the agent who retrieves HUNK at the end of "The Fourth Survivor." He is also features in Operation Raccoon City under the alias "LONE WOLF."
Introduced in Operation Raccoon City:
U.S.S. Delta Team ("Wolfpack"):
LUPO (Karena LesProux) - Assault and Team Leader; former operative of the French Special Forces.
VECTOR - Recon; expert in martial arts and stealth.
BERTHA (Michaela Schneider) - Medic; professional torturer-for-hire.
SPECTRE (Vladimir Bodrovski) - Surveillance; former member of the Soviet Union Security Service.
FOUR EYES (Christine Yamata) - Field Scientist; viral expert.
BELTWAY (Hector Hivers) - Demolitions; former engineer of the U.S. Army.
The U.S.S. also participated in a cleanup operation in Raccoon City. They are encountered by Echo Six in various places throughout Raccoon City. Their uniform closely resembled the one worn by HUNK, with slight differences regarding masks and helmets.
Arsenal
The standard weapon used by the U.S.S. in Resident Evil 2 is the Heckler & Koch MP5 Sub-Machine Gun. Although they have been known to use other weapons such as pistols, with HUNK having his own special handgun, which he nicknames Matilda.
In Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, the U.S.S. standard MP5 is replaced with the Steyr TMP. Also, judging by the inscription on the barrel of the Custom Magnum Parts found in Resident Evil 2, the U.S.S.'s armory also contained some heavy, albeit impractical firepower; a 10-inch version of the IMI Desert Eagle semi-automatic magnum handgun chambered in .50 Action Express—when or where it could have seen operative use is unknown.
U.S.S. 2nd Squad leader Rodriguez is seen with a Remington M870 in concept art, although he holds an M4 during gameplay.

About the Umbrella Corporation
The Umbrella Corporation, is a group of Gamers and Role-players. We have existed for the best part of a decade going through different stages that we call generations (were currently in the 5th Gen) We Have been playing through many games, we came together as a Group in the once highly popular MMORPG Urban Dead, and continue as a reasonably powerful group in the game. However the Games lack of developments and conflicts between another group caused the Corporation to go into decline.
We started branching out into other games almost immediately as Urban Dead's future looked bleak, we expanded into Tribal wars as the Umbram Commonwealth, The West as the Umbrella Corporation, Dead Frontier as UBCS and into Zombie Pandemic in our current format.
We offer Roleplayers a unique opportunity to be part of the imfamous Umbrella Corporation from the Resident Evil Franchise and have canonical positions that can be achieved. As well as some our own home made Umbrella Corp stories in our Dead Nation Series, set Globally. That Role Players can be involved in.
What we offer anybody who's interested in the corps, is a great community atmosphere open to both gamers and RPers, for gamers we bring a history of experience in zombie and other themed games and for those interested in Role playings we offer you the chance to come along and become who ever you want to be.

Tagging Policy
We at Umbrella Corporation feel that this quote from a long-term employee sums up the Corporation's stance on tagging: "People are complaining about graffiti and I say screw them. Graffiti as a turf designator is only good if you can keep it up. If someone were to walk into the Stickling and tag it up, we'd just tag it back over. We have plenty of active players and plenty of spray cans. I say, graffiti everything, let other people cover it up if they want to. They're complaining about graffiti on Hulme Park, NEXT DOOR to the mall. Let them cover our graffiti up 5 times a day. Why should we listen to anyone who tells us not to graffiti? Graffiti is vandalism. So I say, let's vandalize. Get out your spray cans and your U.C. stencils. If anyone really wants to start a violent war over this. I say let them. Anyone provoked to violence over our graffiti can get a headshot from my shotgun."
- As the Umbrella Corporation grows, so will our turf and tagging range.
- Umbrella Corporation members are encouraged to tag and tag often. Also to tag everywhere with the exception of revive tags, revive point info tags and those maintained by our allies.
- Umbrella Corporation tags should include "Umbrella" at the end of the tag, or include a forum link somewhere in the tag; Example: "Umbrella, letting you rest easy." or "Stand up Alive, http://tinyurl.com/umcorp"
- Umbrella Corporation tags should not be put up over other friendly group tags in their H.Q's.
- Slanderous tags about Umbrella should be covered promptly.

Corporation Platoons
Click on the name to go to the corresponding page.
Omega Platoon
Umbrella's first operational platoon in Malton. Created by the board to take the roll of U.B.C.S. Veteran members of the remaining original U.B.C.S. were re-purposed to leadership positions of the platoon. Note that it is inactive. Omega has had several internal "problems" throughout its history as the first platoon of the Corporation, and holds an infamous reputation because of this. Omega Platoons ultimate demise came from the decision to create the experimental Sigma Platoon. Omega was merged together with Victor to form this one massive platoon. As a combat-purpose platoon, it took a key position in most of the operations in its time.
Victor Platoon
Umbrella's second Malton platoon. Created by the board shortly after Omega. This was to gain more strategic options for operations as well the ability for having 2 operations at once. Victor has functioned very well, and is considered one of the best platoons in Umbrella. In early 2009 it was deactivated and members were re-purposed to serve in the experimental Sigma Platoon. Victor, like Omega, functioned as a combat-purpose platoon, and it was at the head of Umbrella's most successful operations. In early June 2009 Victor would be reactivated by the board, to relief the overgrown Sigma. By February of 2010 both platoons could not sustain themselves so it was decided that Sigma and Victor platoon would merge under the name of Victor. It is, to this day, an active platoon. As of late 2010 it was decided to re-purpose members from Whiskey Platoon to train alongside veterans inside Victor Platoon. This experimental decision remains as the current roll for Victor Platoon.
Sigma Platoon
Umbrella's fourth Malton platoon. Sigma was created by the merging of Omega and Victor, as part of an experiment to observe the effectiveness of one massive platoon. Thus Sigma became the main combat platoon for Umbrella, and led all major operations alongside trainee platoon Whiskey. In early 2009, Sigma became the largest platoon ever in Umbrella history, and it literally grew beyond its limits. This eventually led to the reopening of current Victor Platoon. Though it proved itself to be versatile in shifting circumstances, by February of 2010 the Sigma platoon experiment would be shut down. Members, along with Whiskey platoon, were re-purposed to Victor platoon to experiment in better member training. Sigma remains currently inactive but may again be reactivated based on the Corporations needs.
Whiskey Platoon
Umbrella's third Malton platoon. Created to handle the influx of new corporation employees, Whiskey was set up as the first training platoon. Unlike the other platoons, Whiskey's operational goal was the training and education of it's members. Whiskey still participated in operations as a supporting platoon rather than combative. Do to it's leadership however, Whiskey was never underestimated. Most famous of it's operations took place in the Pennville suburb, where Whiskey successfully held and defended the gatehouse during a long siege at Fort Perryn in 2009. Whiskey is currently Inactive and members have been re-purposed to Victor as part of an experiment.
Miscellaneous Platoons and Corporation Sub-Sections
There have been other, specialized sub-sections within the Umbrella Corporation. These groups were made to be specified task groups, and were involved in experiments, emergency plans, classified investigations and covert operations. The following have been permitted to be declassified:
- Search and Rescue Platoon
- The U.S.T.S.
- The B.O.W. Program
- Propaganda Platoon
- Project D.E.M.O.N.
All information detailing or regarding operations are to remain classified for each group has the potential of re-activation.
Scientific Research
Umbrella's top Scientists have conducted various research and development, not to mention experiments connected to Umbrella's Biological Weapons program, including files relating to non-Malton related topics. Only authorized Umbrella personnel are permitted (and encouraged) to add new information into these files. Below are some of the files that are available for public viewing:
